Epistemology - The Study of Knowledge
I Know
Epistemology is the study of human knowledge and the study of the means to human knowledge. Human knowledge must be studied in relation to an independent, absolute reality. Human knowledge is conceptual and precisely not automatic (sensory/perceptual). Because we have to form concepts and abstract ideas from the concrete concepts we observe, human knowledge can only be acquired through a specific process of human action - by choice. Knowledge is validated using the process of reason; the faculty that identifies and integrates the material provided by man’s senses.
Human knowledge is not all knowing. It is limited and it is bound by a set of specific constraints. It is important to note that human knowledge can error to the degree that one accepts random ideas as fact or fails to appropriately integrate concepts into a previously validate belief system. The accuracy of one’s conclusions rests on the truth or falsehood of one's definitions. Human knowledge is valid only when a specific process is followed. |
