An Introduction to Metaphysics
Existence Exists
Metaphysics is the factual study of nature and reality. There are three axiomatic concepts that cannot be proven further and must be considered as our irreducible starting point. If you do not accept these three basic premises, please stop reading. Reason cannot be used in any of your arguments.
Primary Axioms:

Using the three primary axioms as our starting point, it is deduced that an objective, absolute reality exists independent of our consciousness. Things exist as they are and things exist with a specific identity. Moreover, consciousness cannot alter reality; it is merely our faculty of awareness. Existence has metaphysical primacy over consciousness; meaning, in order to be conscious of something there must first exist something of which to be conscious. The opposite of this premise is proposed by the “will to power” philosophies that cast consciousness as the faculty responsible for creating or altering existence. If one accepts the primacy of consciousness, it is no longer necessary to survey the facts of existence to gain knowledge (as we will see in the section on epistemology). One can bypass the world and look to “intuition”, “revelation”, or “supernatural causes” for answers. The grab bag of philosophies holding consciousness as a metaphysical primacy over existence implicitly underlies every form of unreason and has resulted in great harm to mankind throughout history.
